Texas Trucking Association Unveils High-Tech Simulator

The Texas Motor Transportation Association bought a $1-million truck-driving simulator to improve safety for truckers and car drivers.

TMTA said the device, built into a 53-foot trailer, is the first full-motion simulator to be put into a trailer.

The simulator is an authentic truck cab that moves realistically to conform to what is happening on a giant screen that the driver views through the “windshield,” said Bill Webb, the association’s president and chief executive officer.
