Thermo King introduced the Precedent S-750i trailer refrigeration unit, its latest innovation in transport refrigeration for longhaul and local food distribution — with a diesel-electric architecture optimized for shore power integration.
Electrification, integrated shore power, embedded telematics and a lower global warming potential refrigerant all contribute to Thermo King’s efforts in helping customers transition fleets to reduce their environmental impact and stay ahead of future regulation, according to the Minneapolis-based company.
Using the S-series engine, the S-750i meets current and proposed California Air Resources Board Ultra-Low Emission Transport Refrigeration Unit emissions rule without the use of a diesel particulate filter, the company noted.
Every S-750i trailer unit also comes equipped with TracKing telematics to deliver the data customers need and does so for the first 12 months of ownership with no service charge, the company reported. Telematics can help fleet owners monitor temperature, offers rapid alarm detection and security alerts when the doors are opened, and detects fuel loss.
Thermo King is a brand of Trane Technologies. — Transport Topics
