TMC to Meet in Nashville

Some 3,000 trucking industry maintenance technicians are expected to attend the annual meeting of The Maintenance Council, scheduled for March 6 to 9 at the Opryland Hotel in Nashville, Tenn.

Seventy task forces will convene to develop recommended maintenance practices and to discuss industry issues such as tire debris prevention, diesel fuel additives, vehicle underride, ergonomics, and component reliability and durability.

Technical sessions will include a progress report on TMC’s Future Truck Program, imaging, tire maintenance, engine emissions, windshield replacement, electronic cost reporting, suspension maintenance, aerodynamics, on-board computers, and backup warning and vision devices.

William D. Wolterstorff, fleet maintenance manager of Sather Trucking Corp. in Round Lake, Minn., will be installed during the meeting as the new TMC chairman.
