BigRoad launched a “pay-as-you-drive” electronic logging device solution, aimed at drivers with an irregular need for ELD compliance, the company said in a news release.
Toronto-based BigRoad said it has no contracts or cancellation fees, and subscribers will receive complementary DashLink hardware. The company also said it will have no upfront hardware costs.
The offering will aid the longhaul industry, CEO Tony Lourakis said.
Lourakis said the company has clients whose business is seasonal or that requires ELD compliance on occasion, but who have to subscribe to full service.
With pay-as-you-drive, drivers will have an easier path to compliance without the financial strain, BigRoad officials said.
The firm was born in response to the ELD mandate, targeting owner-operators’ interests, the company said.
BigRoad is a subsidiary of Fleet Complete Co. and provides hours-of-service and ELD-compliance technology for the North American transportation industry. — Transport Topics
