Trailer Bridge Inc. said Tuesday it lost $67,334, or 1 cents a share in the fourth quarter of 2007, compared with earnings of $8.9 million or 72 cents in the 2006 fourth quarter.
Revenue for the 2007 quarter was about $31.5 million, compared with $31.1 million in the 2006 quarter.
In its earnings statement, Trailer Bridge said that its fourth quarter results were negatively impacted $1.7 million increase in the company’s fuel bill, and by the startup of its new ocean shipping service to Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic, which the company said reduced net income by $1.5 million during fourth quarter.
For the year, the company said it lost $250,610, compared with a $18,093 loss in 2006.
Full-year revenue rose to about $23 million from $22.8 million a year ago.
Trailer Bridge provides integrated trucking, intermodal and marine freight services.
