Transporeon Group and TIM Consult GmbH announced plans to merge in an effort to provide a broader portfolio of logistics consulting and procurement services for shippers.
Both companies are based in Germany. Transporeon provides a digital network to support the flow of freight across the supply chain for more than 1,000 shippers and trading companies, 65,000 freight carriers and logistics service providers in more than 100 countries. TIM Consult offers logistics consulting, market intelligence and procurement services across all modes for global companies.
Transporeon Managing Partner and Chief Technology Officer Martin Mack said in an Aug. 20 statement that TIM Consult will continue to operate as an independent business unit with offices in Mannheim in Germany and New York City in the United States.
Bjorn Klippel, founder and CEO of TIM Consult, will become a shareholder of Transporeon Group and continue as managing director of the business along with Oliver Kahrs, a former director of strategic initiatives at Transporeon.
