Transportation Insight Launches BirdDog Logistics

Logistics provider Transportation Insight is rebranding its transactional freight brokerage market as BirdDog Logistics.

The Hickory, North Carolina-based company announced in a statement it chose to operate the brokerage business as BirdDog after making multiple acquisitions.

“Over a 17-year period, Transportation Insight has carefully crafted all the component parts needed to provide the most holistic supply chain solutions available in North America,” Chairman Paul Thompson said. “An important piece of that is the direct ability to provide brokerage capacity.”

The statement linked the BirdDog name to a foundation established by a now-defunct North Carolina truckload carrier.
