TravelCenters of America signed a franchise agreement with CSG Petroleum to open its first TA Express in California, the company announced June 23.
The 12-acre site, in Bakersfield, is situated off of state Route 58 at Exit 117. It is currently a 24/7 Travel Plaza. TA plans to have the location converted by the end of the year.
TA Express is a truck-stop chain offering fuel and food with amenities such as laundry rooms, showers and lodging.
“We’re happy to have a new location for professional drivers in California and to work with our new franchisees,” said Dave Raco, vice president of franchise operations at TA. “The team already provides great service to their customers, and we’re happy to have them join our network.”
TA is the nationwide operator of the TA, Petro Stopping Centers and TA Express travel center network. The company announced plans May 20 to accelerate its network expansion strategy by actively pursuing franchising opportunities.
