Canadian bulk hauler Trimac Transportation reported little change in quarterly and annual profits, even though revenue improved for both the fourth quarter and the year.
The Calgary, Alberta, carrier said it earned C$4.3 million, or 17 cents a share, in the fourth quarter on revenue of C$87 million, including fuel surcharges. In the year-ago quarter the company also earned C$4.3 million, or 16 cents a share, on revenue of $75.3 million.
For the year it earned C$11.1 million, or 43 cents a share, slightly down from C$11.6 million, or 44 cents, in 2010. Revenue increased to C$332.1 million, from C$292.2 million a year ago.
TTL is linked to the larger Trimac Group, which operates in the United States as well. The group is ranked No. 41 on the Transport Topics 100 listing of U.S. and Canadian for-hire carriers.
