Canadian transportation firm Trimac Income Fund said it earned C$3.1 million, or 9 cents per unit, in the second quarter, up from C$1.1 million, or 3 cents, a year ago.
Revenue rose to C$73.3 million, from C$63.9 million a year ago, Trimac said late Wednesday.
Transportation revenue rose to C$67.30 million from C$60.2 million. The company’s Bulk Plus Logistics unit’s revenue was unchanged from a year ago, at $3.1 million.
Trimac created a new division at the start of 2010 called National Tank Services, which was previously included in its bulk trucking division. NTS does routine repairs and maintenance and washrack services to rolling stock for both Trimac’s fleet and other trucking companies
Trimac does not include its U.S. operations in its publicly stated earnings, which only encompass Trimac Income Fund and its Canadian operations.
Trimac Income Fund is the Canadian segment of Trimac Group, which ranks No. 40 on the Transport Topics 100 listing of U.S. and Canadian for-hire carriers.
