Trimble has introduced a fleet management program for the oil and gas industry that includes the only off-road mapping service in the United States and Canada.
The oil field mapping service has data for more than 1 million private lease roads and the ability to route directly to well sites and survey locations, according to Trimble.
“With proven and repeatable return on investment, our in-vehicle and out-of-vehicle product suite can save fleets time, money and enable organizations to do more with less. Trimble’s oil and gas products and services give fleets the real-time information and tools that they need to be more efficient, safer and compliant,” Jim Rodi, general manager of Trimble’s North American oil and gas services division, said in a statement.
The oil and gas services package ensures radio frequency devices in trucks are automatically turned off at sensitive sites to prevent accidents. It also has single-button device disabling.
Other oil-specific features include calculating barrels automatically in the crude oil workflow and satellite communication for work in remote areas.
“The decline in oil prices has oil and gas companies looking at their fleets as an area to realize improved efficiencies,” Rodi said.
