Technology provider TruckerLine has created a partnership with Zendrive, which provides safety analytical information, that will allow TruckerLine users to show a driving performance score on their profiles.
TruckerLine, a product of Outset Partners Inc., is designed for drivers to create career profiles that allow them to provide information to prospective employers with single-click access to information. Both companies are based in San Francisco.
“TruckerLine users can ‘record’ specific drives via Zendrive smartphone technology to measure driving behaviors,” the companies’ statement said, assessing to factors including speeding, hard-braking events, sharp accelerations and length-of-time driving. “These measurements produce a driver score that can be used by the driver on TruckerLine to provide additional insight into their professional ability, reputation and history.”
In addition, the product can be used as a communications tool for drivers to keep in touch with colleagues.
“This technology provides additional peace of mind for employers, brokers and shippers with a tangible measurement that adds to certifications and experience to create a full picture of any professional driver,” TruckerLine co-founder Pat Fowler said.
