TruckersB2B to Offer McLeod Software Online

SAN DIEGO - Small trucking companies will be able to buy Tom McLeod software on the Internet through TruckersB2B.com

Bob Helms, TruckersB2B’s president said the joint agreement will “help the little guy look like the big guy to customers and drivers at a cost they otherwise could not afford.”

The LoadMaster software will be sold to these small carriers as an application service provider product. Carriers will rent the software on a monthly basis from McLeod through the TruckersB2B Web site.

Tom McLeod said the product is best suited for carriers with 30 trucks or fewer. Among the features are a dispatch and operations system, accounting, and maintenance. McLeod also will set small carriers up with a Web site and host that site on the servers, said Tom McLeod president of the Birmingham, Ala.-based software company.

In addition, small carriers will be able to integrate mobile computing, mileage and fuel software through the service.

Carriers will pay $30 per truck per month to McLeod, and then receive a rebate for three dollars per truck per month from Truckers B2B. TruckersB2B will get a commission on the sale, Helms said. The agreement comes with no exchange of cash or equity stake, he said.

"We can’t tell if we are going to unleash new demand, but we are excited about the capability," McLeod said.
