Trucking Show to Make Big Debut

The first annual Great American Trucking Show will start its engines Sept. 9 at the Dallas Convention Center and continue through Sept. 11.

With more than 600 exhibitors covering more than 525,000 square feet, the show is on track to be the largest debuting trade show in North America, organizers said.

Exhibitors will include manufacturers of engines, brakes, trailer parts and equipment, trucks, bodies and parts and electrical components, as well as industry suppliers of financial and leasing services and insurance. Also planned is a recruiting pavilion where trucking companies can promote their driver programs and talk to potential hires.

The seminar topics will range from hours-of-service regulations and the latest issues in employment law to spec-ing your next truck and trucking services using the Internet.

Headlining at GATS will be music stars LeAnn Rimes and the Beach Boys. Also on display will be Ol’ Blue, the 1951 Kenworth truck that hauled the Apollo spacecraft.
