TTPG Launches Truck Fleet Management

This story appears in the Jan. 20 print edition of Transport Topics

Transport Topics Publishing Group has announced the launch of Truck Fleet Management, a magazine and website focused on the ownership and operation of vocational, public, utility and other diversified commercial fleets.

Truck Fleet Management, formerly known as Light & Medium Truck, will continue the work of its predecessor, while expanding into areas of interest to its readers, said Bruce Harmon, managing editor of Transport Topics Magazines.

“Truck Fleet Management is an important part of the Transport Topics Publishing Group family, and its audience is one for whom managing trucks is ancillary to their primary business,” he said. “We believe this expansion of its coverage recognizes the full scope of their operations.”

“While light- and medium-duty models constitute the majority of the trucks in our readers’ fleets, our former identity excluded an important slice of their operations,” said Truck Fleet Management managing editor Joe Howard. “Many own off-road machinery, severe-duty trucks, day cabs and more. Going forward, our coverage — indeed, our very identity — will reflect this diversity.”

What will remain un-changed, he said, is the publication’s commitment to helping readers manage their fleets better, through insightful reporting on the topics that matter to them — vehicle maintenance, new product introductions, regulatory updates and more.

A rotation of regular features that target four key sectors — construction, utilities, services and logistics — will carry over to the new publication. In addition, regular departments focused on equipment, technology, truck sales data and more will continue in print and will expand online.

“We believe that this expanded perspective will make us a more complete resource for readers, while leaving intact our commitment to delivering the news and information readers have come to expect,” Howard said.

A completely redesigned website, www.truckfleetmgt.com, was launched Jan. 1. The first print edition of Truck Fleet Management will debut with the February issue.
