The U.S. unemployment rate fell to 10% in November, from 10.2% in October, the Labor Department said Friday.

Employers trimmed payrolls by 11,000 jobs, and revisions added 159,000 to figures previously reported for September and October, Labor said.

Economists had forecast a 125,000 decline in November payrolls and the jobless rate to hold at 10.2%, Bloomberg reported.

Factory payrolls fell by 41,000 jobs, following a 51,000 drop in October. The decline included a 6,300-jobs decline in auto manufacturing and parts industries.

Service industries added 58,000 workers following a gain of 2,000 the previous month.
