Heavy-haul and hazardous-materials carrier United Vision Logistics said it has reorganized its ownership.
GE Capital Corp. and Chairman Ronnie Murphy were named as major owners of the Lafayette, La., carrier formed in 2010 by private equity firm Welsh, Carson, Anderson & Stowe. John Patterson remains as CEO, according to the company.
The carrier has more than 2,300 trucks, all provided by owner-operators, according to the company.
“Considering UVL’s many years of experience, expertise and leadership in transportation, logistics and energy, we are pleased to support UVL as its principal lender and a significant shareholder,” John Martin, president of the Antares division of GE Capital, said in the statement.
United Vision is the successor to Ace Transportation, Dynasty Transportation, Texas Hot Shot Co. and Venture Transport. It ranks No. 52 on the Transport Topics Top 100 list of for-hire carriers with 2011 revenue of $494 million.
