Universal Truckload’s 2Q Income Increases

Universal Truckload Services’ second-quarter profit rose to $4.6 million, or 29 cents per share, from $1.3 million, or 8 cents, a year ago.

Operating revenue for the quarter ended July 3 rose 28.7% to $154.3 million, the company said.

Truckload revenue rose 29.3% to $97.1 million, brokerage revenue improved 33.1% to $34.8 million and intermodal revenue rose 20.2% to $22.5 million.

Universal Truckload ranks No. 39 on the Transport Topics 100 list of the largest U.S. and Canadian for-hire carriers.
