UPS Inc. will acquire MNX Global Logistics for an undisclosed sum, the parcel delivery company said Sept. 28. The deal is expected to close by the end of the year.
Atlanta-based UPS said the transaction would “bring even more precision and capability to UPS customers in health care and related industries who rely upon time-sensitive, often life-impacting logistics solutions.”
Long Beach, Calif.-based time-critical logistics provider MNX’s capabilities in radiopharmaceuticals and temperature-controlled transport will help UPS Healthcare and clinical trial logistics subsidiary Marken meet growing demand for such services, UPS said.
Together with UPS Express Critical, the company will offer worldwide delivery to customers in need of time-critical, temperature-sensitive logistics, it added.
“UPS already brings extensive capability and industry-leading on-time delivery to our customers, and that breadth and reliability is why they place their trust in us,” said Kate Gutmann, president of UPS International, Healthcare and Supply Chain Solutions.
“Together with MNX, we will further that reliability and speed globally, especially for our UPS Healthcare customers. We continue to invest in services that bring unique value to our customers and create additional growth opportunities for UPS,” Gutmann added.
UPS ranks No. 1 on the Transport Topics Top 100 list of the largest for-hire carriers in North America and No. 2 on the Top Package/Courier Carriers list.
