UPS My Choice Reaches 20 Million Members
UPS My Choice, which allows customers more control over residential deliveries, has reached 20 million members worldwide, UPS Inc. said. The company launched the program Sept. 14, 2011.
“UPS My Choice gives consumers the gift of convenience and control,” Stu Marcus, UPS vice president of customer technology, said in a statement. “With the continued growth of global e-commerce comes more packages. UPS is focused on delivering where consumers are, not where they aren’t, and improving the online shopping experience.”
UPS ranks No. 1 on the Transport Topics Top 100 list of the largest U.S. and Canadian for-hire carriers.
With My Choice, members receive an e-mail or text message the day before a shipment arrives. If they will not be home, they can reroute most packages.
In addition, most delivery alerts include an estimated delivery window. For a fee, it also can provide a two-hour confirmed delivery window, UPS said.
The service is a key feature of the UPS mobile app, which is available in 16 countries, the company said. The app has been downloaded more than 7 million times and is on the top-10 list of free business apps in the United States, according to analytics source App Annie.
