UPS Inc. said it expects its holiday volume to be 7.5% higher than a year ago and has added flights in China to meet surging export demand, Bloomberg reported.
The company expects to handle 430 million packages globally between Thanksgiving and Christmas, Bloomberg reported.
The carrier has added flights in Hong Kong and Shanghai to take advantage of a jump in exports from China, and has about 30 aircraft leased for the holiday season, the same as last year, Bloomberg reported.
It has the flexibility to add flights and lease more planes if needed, Chief Financial Officer Kurt Kuehn said.
UPS last week said its third-quarter earnings jumped 80% from a year ago. (Click here for previous story.)
