UPS Inc. will work with shipping technology company Shippo to offer marketplace shipping rates to the more than 35,000 small- and medium-size businesses that use Shippo’s platform, according to an Oct. 10 news release.
With the collaboration, Shippo will offer its users UPS account creation and discounted UPS shipping rates, the companies said.
Businesses that use Shippo now will have access to UPS marketplace shipping rates with a discount of up to 55%, including various waived surcharges. Several services including UPS 2nd Day Air and UPS Ground also are available, the companies said.
UPS officials said the Shippo collaboration is designed to create an easier connection between the platform provider and UPS shipping and logistics solutions.
UPS ranks No. 1 on the Transport Topics Top 100 list of the largest for-hire carriers in North America. Headquartered in Atlanta, UPS serves more than 220 countries and territories worldwide.
