USA Truck appointed Zachary King as its newest senior vice president and chief financial officer, the company announced April 22.
He replaces Jason Bates, who is leaving the company to take the CFO position with Daseke Inc.
“I want to thank Jason for his contributions to USA Truck and wish him success in his future endeavors,” CEO James Reed said. “Zack is a tenured finance and accounting leader who has a deep understanding of process improvement and internal controls — areas critical to the future success of USA Truck.”
King has been with the capacity solutions trucking company since 2015. He previously served as the vice president and corporate controller since 2017.
Reed also praised King for already playing a big role in moving the company toward improved financial results and for creating shareholder value. He noted those are their highest priorities. Reed also expects that influence and contributions will help further improving profitability.
“It is exciting to see our succession planning pay off by filling this critical position with an internal candidate who grew up right here in the River Valley, and is so well prepared to write the next chapter in our business improvement story,” Reed said.
King served in a variety of finance and accounting roles prior to joining USA Truck, including ABB Ltd., Samson Resources Corp., and Deloitte.
