USA Truck Reports 1Q Loss

Truckload carrier USA Truck said Thursday it took a first-quarter loss of $1.88 million, or 18 cents per share, compared with a loss of $1.95 million, or 19 cents, a year ago.

Revenue excluding fuel surcharges fell 14.7% to $82.8 million, while trucking revenue slipped to $80 million, from $93.6 million.

USA Truck said it was “committed to improving the pricing yield within [its] trucking segment” and that it has reduced its company-owned tractor fleet by 10.2%.

Intermodal base revenue grew five-fold to $1.6 million, the company said.



USA Truck is ranked No. 54 on the Transport Topics 100 listing of U.S. and Canadian for-hire carriers.
