Video: Bendix, Kenworth Demonstrate Wingman Fusion

  MOUNT VERNON, Wash. — Bendix Commercial Vehicle Systems provided an in-cab demonstration of the Bendix Wingman Fusion safety system here during a Kenworth media event.

 In the video above, taken Aug. 12 at the Paccar Technical Center, Fred Andersky of Bendix explains how the system provides following distance alerts, whether in city mode at lower speeds, or highway mode when above 37 mph.

In city mode, the system provides audible alerts when getting too close to the vehicle in front. In highway mode, the audible alerts are heard, but the system also can automatically apply the brakes to avoid a rear-end collision, even when the driver has his or her foot on the accelerator.

Bendix announced earlier this year that its Wingman Fusion system is available as a factory-installed option on Kenworth’s T680 and T880 Class 8 trucks.
