Volvo’s North American Deliveries Surge 22%
Volvo Group’s North American truck deliveries rose 22% in May from the same month last year, the company reported June 18.
North American deliveries rose to 5,829 trucks from 4,777 a year ago, Gothenberg, Sweden-based Volvo Group said. That topped April’s 5,695, which had been an 18% year-over-year increase.
Volvo Trucks’ deliveries jumped 40% in North America to 3,796, while Mack Trucks’ slipped 3% to 1,998 trucks.
Volvo Group’s worldwide deliveries for all of its brands were flat from a year ago at 17,475 trucks, while its heavy-duty deliveries rose 4% to 14,971.
European deliveries increased 4% to 6,279, South American deliveries plunged 58% to 865 and Asian deliveries rose 4% to 3,112.
Volvo Group makes Volvo and Mack trucks in North America and includes the UD Trucks and Renault Trucks brands worldwide.
Volvo sold its remaining $265 million stake in India-based Eicher Motors two weeks ago.
