VW Wants Talks with MAN, Scania

Volkswagen AG wants to being official talks on closer cooperation between its truck division and fellow European manufacturers MAN and Scania by next month, Bloomberg reported Wednesday.

VW is the largest shareholder in both Germany’s MAN and Sweden’s Scania, and is seeking a three-way combination of the two truck makers and its own commercial vehicles unit, Bloomberg said.

MAN attempted a hostile takeover of its Swedish rival Scania last year, but dropped the bid earlier this year.
