Wabash National Corp.’s second-quarter income slipped from a year ago on acquisition costs, but the company’s trailer sales rose.
Net income fell to $1.9 million, or 3 cents a share, down from $3.3 million, or 5 cents, a year ago, the trailer manufacturer said late Tuesday.
Operating income rose to $8.6 million from $5.1 million a year ago. Sales jumped 26% to $362 million.
The results were adversely impacted by costs related to Wabash’s May acquisition of Walker Group Holdings, which totaled $13.6 million, or 20 cents per share.
Lafayette, Ind.-based Wabash shipped 11,700 new trailers in the quarter, up from 11,300 a year ago.
