“Wabco is embracing open innovation as a key driver of our ongoing success,” Des O’Regan, director of product innovation at Wabco, said in a company release. “Our goal is to identify and work with startups, high growth and larger, established companies and multinationals, that can help accelerate our innovation pipeline and product offering.”
The collaboration also will leverage Plug and Play’s innovation capabilities to support the advancement of Wabco’s autonomous, connected and electric (ACE) vehicle and transport ecosystem technologies.
Wabco will have a permanent office at Plug and Play. It will be led by Gandert Van Raemdonck, global head of technology scouting.
The expansion of Wabco’s ACE portfolio will be a key focus as the company looks to grow its internet-of-things and cloud-based technology capabilities to drive differentiated benefits for original equipment manufacturers, commercial vehicle fleets and transporters, globally. — Transport Topics
