Walmart is looking to hire 20,000 new workers ahead of the holiday season.

The nation’s largest retailer announced Sept. 1 it was looking for associates for more than 250 Walmart and Sam’s Club distribution centers and fulfillment centers and transportation offices. To facilitate the hirings, Walmart is hosting job fairs Sept. 8-9.

“We’ll be filling a wide range of roles, including order fillers, freight handlers, lift drivers, technicians and management positions. These positions will be permanent roles and will be offered in both full- and part-time capacities,” Joe Metzger, executive vice president of supply chain operations for Walmart U.S., and Karisa Sprague, senior vice president of people and supply chain for Walmart U.S., said in a statement.

The average wage for supply chain associates is $20.37 per hour, the company said.

Employees would have access to medical coverage starting at $30.50 per pay period. Walmart is also offering $150 cash bonuses for getting the COVID vaccine. New associates who get vaccinated before Oct. 4 or who were already vaccinated prior to their hire date are eligible.

Walmart Inc. ranks No. 3 on the Transport Topics Top 100 list of the largest private carriers in North America.
