Winsupply Acquires Firm to Expand Distribution in Florida

Winsupply Inc., a wholesale distributor of industrial supplies and equipment, has acquired Certified Plumbing and Electrical Supply Co. in Live Oak, Fla., company officials announced Oct. 3.

Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Certified has three locations along Florida’s Interstate 10 corridor in an area of the state that is underserved by Winsupply, said Roland Gordon, president and CEO of Winsupply in Dayton, Ohio.

Don and Glenda Edwards, owners of Certified, said the decision to retire and sell the company was made to help employees. “The benefits is such a lot more than I could provide independently,” Edwards said in a statement.

Winsupply supplies products for plumbing, heating, ventilation and air conditioning, waterworks, industrial pipe, valves and fittings, electrical, fire suppression and turf irrigation industries through a network of company-owned and independent distributors and a network of 590 locations in 45 states. The company’s affiliates operate a combined fleet of 2,060 trucks.
