WiseTech Global Acquires Singapore Firm Containerchain
WiseTech Global, a logistics company based in Sydney, has acquired Containerchain, a container logistics provider that does business in Asia, Europe and the United States, according to a WiseTech news release. Terms were not disclosed.
Headquartered in Singapore, Containerchain focuses on container logistics in Australia, New Zealand and Singapore, with more recent expansions into Malaysia, Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium, France and the United States, according to WiseTech, which has 72 logistics employees.

Containerchain offers real-time tracking, automation, connectivity, operational planning and container visibility across the supply chain, WiseTech said. Containerchain covers more than 5 million import and export container movement notifications annually.
Containerchain focuses on empty container depots, road transporters, container terminals, warehouses, shipping lines and cargo owners. Customers include Arrow Transport and Logistics, Kuehne + Nagel, Cogent Holdings, ITS ConGlobal, Pinnacle Corp. and CDAS.
The transaction follows WiseTech’s other recent logistics-related acquisitions in Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, several European nations, Taiwan and Uruguay. Company officials said they plan on accelerating growth through targeted acquisitions.
