Transportation software companies Xata Corp. and McLeod Software on Monday announced joint-development projects to help fleets comply with hours-of-service regulations and improve driver and vehicle performance.
The companies said they are currently working together on two projects, both of which will integrate Xata functionality into McLeod’s product offerings.
One joint project is focused on giving fleets a real-time view of exactly how many hours a driver has available, both for current and future drive cycles.
The other is aimed at enabling fleets to proactively manage inspections and better utilize maintenance data, the companies said.
“Our partnership with Xata unites two industry-leading companies that share a common goal of providing fleets with real-time information and easy-to-use tools to improve operations,” said Tom McLeod, CEO of McLeod Software.
The joint projects were announced at the McLeod Software Users’ Conference in Chicago.
