XPO launched a new service aimed at expanding its cross-border services between the U.S. and Mexico, the company announced July 17.

XPO Mexico+ builds on four decades of experience to better meet growing customer demand for cross-border services. The service is leveraging customer feedback and an internal analysis of shipping trends.

The focus has been on adding capacity, coverage and technology to existing cross-border routes as companies work to shift their supply chains closer to home.

“For more than 40 years, our North American network has set the standard for LTL freight transportation between the U.S. and Mexico,” XPO CEO Mario Harik said. “Now, we’re at the forefront of growth in cross-border trade, with nearshoring trends driving increasing demand for LTL services. XPO Mexico+ delivers an industry-leading network of border-crossing points, expanded Mexico coverage and purpose-built technology. Our customers’ shipments arrive safely and on time, with door-to-door visibility.”

XPO said in the announcement that the service provides faster shipping and access to more destinations to support increased nearshoring and evolving supply chains. It expands existing services to seven new border-crossing points to further accelerate delivery times. The service also includes more available capacity, real-time online tracking and dedicated bilingual support. The service also is certified by the Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism.

XPO ranks No. 5 on the Transport Topics Top 100 list of the largest for-hire carriers in North America.
