XPO Lands Cummins Logistics Contract
XPO Logistics has won a contract to manage the primary parts distribution center in Memphis, Tennessee, for diversified manufacturer Cummins Inc., XPO said Jan. 11.
The center’s 800 employees ship 2,700 orders daily out of a 1 million-square foot facility.
The main task for the facility is to distribute component parts, rebuild kits and remanufactured engines as the principal restock hub for Cummins’ warehouses worldwide. It supports thousands of Cummins dealers in North America. XPO will provide custom technology for parts stocking and control, fulfillment, shipping and returns management, the company said.

Based in Greenwich, Connecticut, XPO ranks No. 2 on the Transport Topics Top 50 list of logistics companies.
Cummins, of Columbus, Indiana, is best known in heavy-duty trucking for its manufacturing of diesel engines. It also works in electrical power generation systems, emissions and filtration and other engines.
