XPO Logistics introduced new benefits for participants in its driver training programs, the company announced July 8.
The Greenwich, Conn.-based trucking and logistics company said trainees will receive full compensation and benefits during the seven-week training.
“Our recent investments in LTL training will give more students an edge in becoming highly skilled drivers,” Chief Human Resources Officer Josephine Berisha said in a statement. “We welcome all applicants with an interest in driving for XPO as an industry leader, including our nondriver employees who want to pursue a career behind the wheel.”
The trainees also get free tuition and a guaranteed wage paid for all 180 hours of classroom instruction and on-the-job training, which the company values at $10,000. They also have the opportunity to pursue paid dockwork during the course of the program. XPO will make a job offer for students who successfully complete the program requirements. — Transport Topics
