Xtra Lease to Offer Tracking Units On Its Fleet of Rental Trailers
Xtra Lease will install 25,000 Terion trailer-tracking units on its rental trailers.
The deal with Terion Inc., a Florida company that offers in-cab communications as well as trailer-tracking, comes as the market for satellite-based vehicle tracking may be undergoing something of a shakeout.

The St. Louis-based equipment leasing company spent more than $10 million to equip the trailers, and said it will buy units for the rest of its fleet if the technology works out as planned.
Xtra’s officials said the deal is significant because it allows trucking companies to try out trailer-tracking technology by renting their trailers.
