YRC Worldwide expects to turn an operating profit in the second half of this year, the company said in a regulatory filing. It would mark the first such time since late 2007.
For the second half of 2011, YRC estimated it would earn $4.2 million before interest and taxes, compared with a projected loss of $69 million for the first half of the year.
Revenue for the full year will rise about 14% to $4.93 billion, from the $4.33 billion in revenue it posted last year, the less-than-truckload carrier said.
Adjusted earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization will rise from a projected $59.9 million in the first half of the year to $149.9 million in the second half, for a total EBITDA of $209.8 million for the full year, YRC said.
YRC, which could finalize a restructuring plan as soon as this week, is ranked No. 4 on the Transport Topics 100 listing of U.S. and Canadian for-hire carriers.
