The less-than-truckload industry is embracing dimensioning technology to enable more accurate freight pricing and automate what used to be manual tasks.

ArcBest Corp. is the latest less-than-truckload carrier to embrace dimensional-based pricing and is scheduled to institute the new program on Aug. 1.

Less-than-truckload carriers have more than quadrupled the use of dimensioner technology to improve pricing accuracy and profitability, experts said.
