Advertising Blitz Launched; Contributions Solicited

ORLANDO, Fla. — Trucking unveiled its latest image-enhancing advertising blitz aimed at highlighting the industry’s commitment to safety and giving a human face to the truckers who move the freight.

The ads are sponsored by motor carriers and industry suppliers. The first appeared in USA Today and the Wall Street Journal on Nov. 1, and more are scheduled to run through March.

But American Trucking Associations doesn’t want the campaign to end there. The group and those who have donated to fund the ads are appealing to the rest of the industry to help create more commercials and put the spots on radio and television.
