Aerostar Global Logistics, a freight forwarder that works mostly with aerospace clients, has acquired Professional Freight Solutions, which provides transportation management services, auditing and rate negotiations and supply chain consulting.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
“As our customers continue to consolidate their vendors and their logistics spend, they increasingly seek customized solutions for all modes of transportation,” Tom Gioia, CEO of Aerostar, which is based in Lombard, Ill., said in a Aug. 16 statement. “The addition of PFS bolsters our capabilities in LTL and truckload end markets, enhancing our ability to provide a complete suite of logistics services.”
Mark Hebden, founder of Washington, Mich.-based Professional Freight Solutions, said he is pleased to partner with a “premium logistics company like Aerostar” and looks forward to “continuing to offer our unique brand of customer service.”
In addition to its core aerospace business, Aerostar arranges for transportation of heavy industrial goods, health care and medical devices, sporting ammunition and other products that are hard to ship or require special handling.
