Freight forwarder AFF Global Logistics purchased Alaska Express, a domestic freight forwarding firm serving the Alaska market.
AFF is owned by its management team and private equity fund The Resolute Fund II. Alaska Express will merge its business operations with AFF. Terms of the deal weren’t released.
“Alaska Express has a strong reputation, and joining forces was a logical choice,” said Craig Forbes, AFF vice president of Alaska operations.
Fife, Wash.-based AFF Global provides domestic offshore and international ocean freight forwarding of dry and temperature-controlled products, project logistics and warehouse and distribution services. It has specialized in the Alaska, Hawaii, Guam and Puerto Rico markets.
Last year, AFF purchased Chicago-based Grand Worldwide Logistics, a leading warehouse and third-party logistics company serving industries including beverage/spirits, food and paper.
