The convention, scheduled from July 19 to 21 in Washington, D.C., will be a combination of reflection, activation and anticipation, said Edward Wytkind, longtime executive director of the department. Its theme will be “A Bold Voice; a Decade of Action,” which Wytkind contends reflects both the department’s growth and its activist posture.

“While we will be pausing to look at TTD’s evolution, at its decade of legislative and political activism, most of the convention will be looking forward to try to foster a cooperative approach to legislative and regulatory issues that matter to working people,” he said. “We need to take a strategic approach to dealing with industry on both global and national issues of jobs and safety.”
