ANR Advance Transportation Co. of Milwaukee announced the sale of ConEx, its flatbed truckload division, to an undisclosed Kentucky investor group.

The new owners intend to operate the business under the ConEx name, ANR Advance said. The division is based in Grand Rapids, Mich.

ANR Advance recently closed its Special Services Division after the Teamsters union filed a petition to force the company into bankruptcy.

The Teamsters petition seeks $2.2 million in health and pension contributions on behalf of 1,400 unionized employees who struck the company’s less-than-truckload division in December.

ANR Advance is in the processing of liquidating its LTL fleet.
