Trucking components maker ArvinMeritor Inc. Tuesday reported a $12 million, or 17 cents a share for its fiscal first quarter, compared with a profit of $7 million, or 10 cents a share, in the previous first quarter.
Sales for the quarter ended Dec. 30 rose 6% to $1.7 billion, the company said in a statement.
The company posted a loss from continuing operations of $1 million, or 1 cent per share, compared with a profit from continuing operations of $10 million, or 14 cents, a year earlier.
ArvinMeritor said its fiscal year 2008 outlook of earnings from continuing operations of $1.49 to $1.60 per share.
It said it expects North American Class 8 heavy-duty truck production to be 235,000 to 255,000 units during calendar year 2008.
