AUSTIN, Texas — American Trucking Associations has unveiled a fourth “image” truck in a fleet that travels the country to represent the industry.

The Intermodal Motor Carriers Conference on Oct. 15 unveiled the 2023 Peterbilt Model 579 UltraLoft at the 2023 Management Conference & Exhibition. The bright red truck joins Interstate One, the Share the Road truck and the Workforce Heroes truck in a fleet driven by America’s Road Team captains to events and exhibits nationwide.

As the truck will highlight intermodal trucking, ATA said it primarily will be on display at ports as well as at schools to show young people the newest technology that is available behind the wheel.

“We are thrilled that ATA’s newest truck will be helping to spread our safety message and burnish trucking’s image from coast to coast,” ATA President Chris Spear said at the unveiling, during which a black curtain was pulled back to reveal the truck. “This new addition will enable us to further educate the public about the indispensable role of truck drivers, their commitment to safety and how intermodal carriers play an integral part of our lives, bringing the world to our door.”

Spear noted the image trucks are always on the move.

“Our trucks play a vital role in expanding our reach to schools and image events across the country,” he said. “This year alone, our trucks have been seen by over 100,000 people and have participated in more than 50 events in approximately 30 states.”

Peterbilt General Manager and Paccar Vice President Jason Skoog said, “Supporting this program is a great way for Peterbilt to stand with the intermodal transportation industry. Trucking keeps America moving, and it is important to not only repeat that message, but also educate the new generations on the critical role that trucking plays in our supply chain and by extension on our strength as a nation.
