ATA to Appeal Dismissal of Del. Bridges Toll Suit

merican Trucking Associations said March 1 it would appeal a federal court decision that dismissed its lawsuit seeking the rollback of a sharp toll increase for seven Delaware River bridges connecting New Jersey and Pennsylvania, an association official told Transport Topics last week.

The increase more than tripled tolls to $13.75 per bridge from the previous $4 fee for a five-axle commercial vehicle.

ATA, along with Roadway Express, the New Jersey Motor Truck Association and the Pennsylvania Motor Truck Association, had sued the Delaware River Joint Toll Bridge Commission, asserting that the increase violated the Federal-Aid Highway Act of 1987.
