ATA Board to Meet This Week

Several key lawmakers are expected to address the board of directors of American Trucking Associations during its summer leadership meeting in the Washington suburb of Arlington, Va., June 21 to 23.

Scheduled speakers include Sen. Richard Shelby (R-Ala.), chairman of the Senate Transportation Appropriations Subcommittee, and Sen. Max Baucus (D-Mont.), the senior Democrat on the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee.

Reps. Thomas Petri (R-Wis.), chairman of the House Ground Transportation Subcommittee, and Nick J. Rahall III (W.Va.), senior Democrat on the same panel, will address a fund-raiser for ATA’s political action committee, TruckPAC.

Clyde J. Hart Jr., acting deputy administrator of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration, is expected to speak at the June 23 board meeting.
