ATA Board Meets in Florida

On-board recorders and trucking productivity issues are on the agenda for the winter meeting of American Trucking Associations, whose board of directors is gathering through Feb. 8 in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.

The trade organization’s Technology & Engineering Policy Committee will consider a proposal on who should have access to data collected by on-board recorders. If approved by the panel, the matter will be turned over to the directors for discussion.



The association’s productivity task force will consider a request for help from the National Automobile Transporters Association in securing congressional approval of a 10% increase in the current 80,000-pound federal weight limit for trucks.

In November, ATA directors rejected a similar request from the group, which asked them to reconsider the decision.
