ATA Endorses EBE System for CSA 2010 Compliance

American Trucking Associations said Wednesday it was endorsing EBE Technologies’ CSA 2010 Dashboard as an effective system to help trucking companies manage upcoming CSA 2010 regulations.

“CSA 2010 will soon replace SafeStat as the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration’s tool to prioritize carriers for interventions,” said Dave Osiecki, ATA’s senior vice president of policy and regulatory affairs.

ATA is endorsing the system “because it helps carriers take a critical look at their safety performance data to determine how to focus their resources to ensure safety compliance and avoid an FMCSA intervention,” Osiecki said in a statement.

EBE’s 2010 Dashboard monitors and retrieves carrier- and driver-related inspection information from FMCSA’s compass portal daily, providing near visibility into driver behavior so carriers can boost their compliance, lower accident costs and keep drivers and the public safer.

The Web-based tool is flexible in identifying and acting on at-risk driving behavior and delivers carrier and driver percentiles and measures, with the ability to target specific areas, ATA said.

CSA 2010 — which FMCSA said recently will be called just CSA — is the federal government’s new safety regime for the trucking industry, with implementation dates looming this fall.
